TAKE A WALK….
Get up, get moving and get motivated! Sometimes all it takes is a five min walk to get the blood circulating and to make you feel refreshed. Twenty – thirty minute walk would be better but if all you have time for is five min then DO IT! Yes, it will make a difference in your body and mind.
For those of you who work at the computer all day, take your breaks and move, move, move! Walk up and down the steps twice just to get your heart racing and your blood pumping. I did say walk but you could jog if you’re up for the challenge. The idea obviously is to take a break from being stationary and use your muscles. By moving, whatever you choose to do as long as it’s getting you out of your seat, you’ll also kick start your brain. Recharging your body by exercising even a little, will make a major difference in your mood as well as your waistline.
An important factor to keep in mind no matter what type of exercise you engage in, remember to breath! Some people don’t realize that they hold there breath during a workout as well as stretching. This is not good. Your muscles need oxygen! If you are holding your breath during exercise you are depleting oxygen to your muscles as well as your brain, which then causes fatigue. Take slow deep breaths and stay focused on what your body is telling you. Listen to what is going on inside of you. The more you learn about yourself (inside and out, mentally and physically) the healthier you become.
So take a break from your chair, and go for a little walk. I believe it will clear your mind and brighten your day!
