A new year! I’m determined to cut out sugar and detox from all the lovely holiday deserts…….. and whatever else I indulged in.
Yes, this is hard and I only just begun January 3rd! My only vice I can’t seem to kick as of yet is my daily peanut butter and jelly sandwich ( A lot of sugar in welches jelly). I love a good PB & J. It’s what I look forward to after a workout. I will eventually have to cut that out. I’m following a gradual program where going cold turkey is not necessary nor is it possible for me at the moment. I do need some sanity in this insane program I’m currently on. When I say “program” its not a “real” program, it’s just what I like to call it. For me, sugar in my coffee is heaven. Chocolate sends me in a bliss. My mouth waters thinking about chocolate chip cookies. Haha 🙂 All I”m saying is the least I can do for now is enjoy a good PB & J. As long as I’m not physically pouring sugar over my sandwich than I’m making progress.
The first week is the hardest, than of course the weekend comes and temptation is at its finest. However, I made it through my nephews birthday party without even a bite of his birthday cake! So proud of me 🙂
I have been really into sardines and red beats lately. All I do is mix those into some of my favorite greens, add some quinoa, and I have a healthy filling meal. The challenge right now is being creative with my meals. Sometimes I can only eat so much of the same thing before I’m about to crack. I’m constantly on the hunt for new and improved recipes that don’t take forever to prepare.
Hope you all are having a wonderful New Year thus far. Enjoy what you have, take time to reflect, set goals, take action, prepare and enjoy the now!

“I was eating bad stuff. Lots of sugar and carbs, junk food all the time. It makes you very irritated.” Arvil Lavigne
“With all of the holiday cheer in the air, it’s easy to overlook the ingredients in the foods. Ingredients such as salt, sugar, and fat– all of which leads to diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes, strokes, heart disease, and cancer.” Lee Haney
